The country’s first lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa has been invited to Russia in November as the Russian government commended her philanthropic ventures as the country’s are expected to sign bilateral partnerships in December.
The Federal Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation led by Hon. Speaker Matvienko who hosted Hon. Speaker Mudenda and his Delegation through the Russian consulate in Zimbabwe following their visit to Zimbabwe conveyed the invitation in Harare this week.
“Hon. Matvienko informed the Zimbabwe delegation that the Zimbabwe First Lady had been invited to visit Russia in November 2022 where she would be expected to accept a donation on behalf of the Angel of Hope Foundation.” A Parliamentary circular said.
Furthermore, “Hon. Matvienko requested the Hon. Speaker of Zimbabwe to pass on warm greetings to His Excellency the President and the First Lady whom she admires as a leading champion in philanthropy targeting gender equality and the protection of women and girls in Zimbabwe.” The circular further emphasised.
The visit is expected to bolster ties between Zimbabwe and Russia which have been tainted by its implications on the global geopolitics following Britain’s, Europe and American fall out with the alleged global East Dictatorship.
