The Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League has found Highlanders football Club guilty of missile throwing in a match played against FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium on the 23rd of April 2022.
The incident which occured when referee Kuzivakwamwari Jaravaza awarded FC Platinum a penalty in the 84th minute, with the teams in a 1-1 stalemate after Peter Muduwa was said to have fouled Walter Musona in the box.
With replays having shown Muduwa making contact with his opponent outside the penalty box and the FC Platinum player having lost his footing in the box the move is perhaps justifying ZIFA’s stern stance on fan violence.
The country’s football premier league apex body also awarded the Zvishavane based outfit 3 points and 3 goals in the match that prematurely ended in the 84th minute after the penalty call and missile throwing with the teams tied at 1-1.
The result comes at a time Highlanders awaits ruling on the violence that ensued during their match against Dynamos at Barbourfields last month which forced the premier league to temporarily halt the country’s football league.
