KING of Sungura Alick Macheso walked away US$20K richer on Thursday night after the guest of honour at his album launch event Sports and Youth deputy minister Tino Machakaire bought the album for US$10k in his own capacity and another US$10K from his company.
Macheso was also given a residential stand.
The event which was held at Rainbow towers was attended by senior government officials, musicians, fans, promoters and journalists.
Musicians, Sulumani Chimbetu, Mark Ngazi, Jah Prayzah, Seh Calaz , the Charamba, Selmar Mtukudzi and Tendai Manatsi also attended the album launch event.
Macheso, who was supported by his wife Nyadzisai, said he was filled with joy to be recognized by all the guests at his event.
The artist will launch his unveil his offering, Tinosvitswa nashe, his 12th album tomorrow at Aquatic Complex on a day that also mark his 54th birthday.
