MP for Chitungwiza North, Godfrey Sithole and member of the popular Nyatsime 16 who were incarcerated close to150 days ago alongside controversial legislator for St Mary’s Job Sikhala has been granted bail.

Granting bail today in the Magistrates court, the presiding magistrate issued the legislator a ZWL300000 bail bond and ordered him to submit his Passport and report to St Mary’s police station every Monday.

Members of the CCC who attended the court proceedings emphasised excitement and emphasised the judiciaries showcase of impartiality.

“I was impressed by the outcome of the bail application of Godfrey Karakadzai Sithole by the judge. This has shown no interference of politics in the judiciary system and as such this is a job well done.” Brighton Chavhunduka, the CCC interim Organising Secretary for Chitungwiza North said.

Members of the country’s largest political outfit CCC said they hope the same would become in the related Job Sikhala case as their families had suffered vast social and financial setbacks.

“The fact that the Nyatsime 13 have gone for 150 days without their bread winners has been detrimental to their wellbeing and we are very happy following the outcome and hope the same prevails in the Job Sikhala case.” Willias Madzimure the MP for Kambuzuma Constituency and member of the Budget and Public Accounts Portfolio Committees said.

The Court session was attended by Sithole’s wife, members of CCC from Chitungwiza and legislators from the country’s largest opposition political outfit.

More details around the issue could not be established as the legal team and official family representative for Sithole were finalising document submission and payments to allow for Sithole’s release.
