Zimbabwe regrouped in the seventh over to claim the Walton T20 series 2 nil after a 10 run win as the Zimbabwean team has gone on a six match unbeaten run following their win in the recently ended T20 World Cup Qualifiers Pool B tournament.

Ryan Burl’s half a century in the match, climaxed by a 34 runs in the 15 the over changed the atmosphere in a fully packed Harare Sports Club, reigniting his 2019 best of 30 runs off Shakib Al Hasan in a single over was enough to reignite the Chevrons who had lost 6 wickets after only hitting 67 runs at cress.

The Burl and Jongwe partnership managed to get world record status as no seventh wicket partnership has ever accrued 79 runs from 31 balls, relating to a strike rate of over 250%.

Bangladesh could not stand the pressure Zimbabwe exerted as they lost three early wickets and went for nearly 5 overs without claiming a boundary to ascertain their loss to Zimbabwe.

The win is a major moral boost for the Chevrons after a long poor performance stint that had seen the country excludes from most other versions of the sport owing to poor performance.
