Zimbabwe will this year for the first-time post COVID-19 travel bans and limitations participate at the Meetings Show London from the 28th to 30th of June 2022 after a two year sabbatical.

“Meetings Show London is one of the leading business tourisms (MICE) fair in the UK where Associations, Conference Organisers, Meeting Planners, Convention Bureaus, Exhibition Organisers and Buyers meet and generate network and business leads.” The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Public Relations department said in a statement.

The event is imperative in setting the tone for Zimbabwe’s participation in forums that potentially avail opportunities for marketing destination Zimbabwe for MICE tourism.

“MICE Tourism development and promotion requires active participation by all tourism players and support services suppliers to engage the international market and association pool if we are to attract the large number of conferences needed by the destination”, Miss Pauline Ndlovu, the Acting Executive Director of the Zimbabwe National Convention Bureau said.

The authority emphasised the coincidence following the successful launch of the MICE Campaign – MeetInZim and the event availing destination Zimbabwe to engage with UK MICE Agents and bring business delegates to ‘Meet in Zimbabwe.’

The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority vowed to work closely with International Operators to stimulate growth in the Zimbabwe’s Meetings Industry and market the various beauty’s Zimbabwe has to offer.

“With easy airline access, Zimbabwe, with diverse and spectacular scenery from green and fragrant Tea and Coffee plantations in the hills to desert like areas with elephants and other wild animals. Choose where you want to hold your MICE event and leave the rest to our experts.” Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer at the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Ms Winnie Muchanyuka said.

Furthermore, “Zimbabwe has some of Africa’s most professional and dedicated event professionals working in outstanding venues and this has been reflected in Zimbabwe’s membership of global trade organisation’s. Our launch of the MEETINZIM Europe Campaign looks for new partnerships with the United Kingdom as a gateway to African trade, investment and tourism development opportunities. Zimbabwe offers an exciting, safe and great value MICE destination.” Muchanyuka also said.

MICE Tourism entails to the travel that mainly encompasses business travel catering for Meetings, Incentivized travel, Conferences and Events and the London show is imperative as UK is a major home to Zimbabwean diasporan’s
